Housing investment in Egypt
The New Urban Communities Authority- Ministry of housing,
utilities and urban development has announced a new program for
Egyptians living abroad to own and invest in land in Egypt. The
program aims to foster connections between Egypt and its citizens
abroad, to encourage Egyptians living abroad to invest in housing
in their home country and to stimulate the national economy and
create new jobs in construction sector and other related fields.
The land available for ownership ranges from 350 m² to 800 m² in 5

Swiss Egypt Chemicals
The
Swiss Egypt Chemicals company owns a newly-established detergent
plant in the industrial zone in Borg Elarab – Alexandria. The
company is a joint stock company and is 60% foreign capital
(mainly Swiss) and 40% Egyptian Capital is with total capital of
10 million EGP. However, there is still up to 30% of the company’s
shares available for external or additional partnership
The total area of the
plant is around 4500m2, out of which is 40% for phase 1 and is
fully built and equipped with Turkish machinery. The plant is
designed to manufacture all types of liquid detergents, glycerin,

period of 2010. While Egyptian imports from Canada increased by 23%,
